Progress in therapy is often subtle. It rarely looks dramatic or immediate.
More often, it unfolds gradually through shifts in awareness, response, and relationship.
You notice emotions sooner rather than after they escalate.
You pause before reacting.
You experience greater clarity about your needs.
You feel more self-compassion.
You communicate more openly.
You set boundaries more confidently.
You feel less reactive during conflict.
You experience deeper connection.
Anxiety or sadness may still arise, but it feels more manageable.
You feel steadier during difficult moments.
There may be setbacks or emotionally intense sessions.
This does not mean therapy is failing. It often means that important work is going on.
If you’re considering beginning therapy, I offer in-person and virtual psychotherapy in Oakville, Ontario.
You don’t have to carry this alone.
